Pinnapple and Fol Epi Croque Monsieur

At a glance
2 slices of thick french bread
1 ounce of baked ham
1/2 cup grated Fol Epi, or 1 thick slice
1 slice of pineapple in syrup


Preheat the broiler to the lowest heat setting. Place a few slices of ham, followed by 1/2 cup (or 1 thick slice) of Fol Epi, and layer with the pineapple ring on one side of the bread. Cover the pineapple ring with the remaining slice of bread and spread the butter on the outside surfaces of the sandwiches.

Place the sandwiches on an ungreased baking sheet and broil for about 5 minutes, turn them over, and continue cooking until they are crispy and golden brown, about 5 additional minutes.
