Paying homage to its French roots, Ile de France®, the French gourmet cheeses, will co-sponsor the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s “Rendez-Vous with French Cinema 2006.” Now in its eleventh year, the film series has become America ’s leading showcase for French cinema. This year’s festival, to be held on March 10-19 in Alice Tully Hall, will feature 25 films, including “Palais Royale!,” the opening night’s feature film.
“We are delighted to do our part in bringing French cinema to the attention of New Yorkers,” said Emmanuelle Hofer Louis, Director of Marketing for Ile de France. “By participating in such unique events, it is our hope that our brand’s familiar blue, white and red luxury liner will become a culinary fixture in New Yorker’s kitchens.”
In addition to co-sponsoring “Rendez-Vous with French Cinema,” Ile de France will host the series’ Opening Night Reception, to be held in Alice Tully Hall on Friday, March 10 following the 7:00 pm screening. Ile de France will offer its signature Brie and goat cheese for hors d’oeuvres for more than 700 guests. “Palais Royale!” writer/director/actress Valerie Lemercier and cast members Catherine Deneuve and Lambert Wilson are among the film dignitaries to attend Opening Night.
