How to: Cheesy Potato Cakes

Potato cakes offer a mouth-watering contrast in texture thanks to a crispy outside and a fluffy inside. Pair them with gourmet Ile de France cheeses for a fun and flavorful party snack!

To make potato cakes, simply mix at least cups of mashed potatoes (leftovers work great!) with one egg yolk. Shape the potato mixture into cakes and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until they're a bit firm. Then lightly coat each cake in flour, then spread an egg-milk wash on each side. Finally, coat the cakes in breadcrumbs and fry them on an oiled pan for about 3-5 minutes on each side or until sufficiently browned. That's all it takes to make a potato cakes – now for the flavorful additions!

Ile de France Roquefort Potato Cake
Crumble ¼ cup of Ile de France Roquefort into your mashed potatoes before forming the cakes. The salty and creamy Roquefort will make your potato cakes boldly flavorful.

Ile de France Goat Cheese & Chive Sweet Potato Cake
Try making sweet potato cakes for something a little different. Tangy Ile de France Goat cheese and mild chives create a sweet potato cake full of complementing flavors.

Brie, Ham, & Apple Potato Cake
Sweet, salty, and creamy; this potato cake has it all! Simply dice up ham and apple, and mix into mashed potatoes along with chunks of gourmet Ile de France Brie cheese. Hearty enough to be served as an entrée!

Bacon & Camembert Potato Cake
This potato cake does not skimp on bold flavor! Chop up crispy bacon and mix into mashed potato mixture, along with Ile de Franc Camembert cheese. The salty bacon perfectly contrasts the nutty, creamy Camembert.

While all of the add-ins for Cheesy Potato Cakes sound fantastic, there is an omission in the recipe. It states, "Simply mix at least cups of mashed potatoes." How many cups are required here? Thanks!
