What inspired your winning entry?
My inspiration was my Grandma, Isabel who I miss dearly and taught me how to make my very first eggs when I was a young girl. Now, every time I cook with eggs and cheese I think of her! I added in a bit of quinoa for a great gluten-free protein that tastes amazing and is filing for a breakfast, lunch or dinner anytime of the year!
How did you develop a passion for food?
My mother, Joann taught me everything I needed to know about food starting at the age of 5!
When you're creating a recipe, how do you start?
I start with colors- think green, yellow, orange and find vegetables and fruits to fill those colors then I add in protein and healthy fats!
What do you like about French cheese in general and Ile de France Brie in particular?
The flavor; my family is obsessed and they love it in everything from morning omelets to holiday cheese and crackers for entertaining!
What's your advice for people who have never cooked with gourmet cheeses?
Start simple; add it into your eggs, salads or pizzas for a kick of flavor!
What are your favorite things to serve at a party?
Vegetables, guacamole, homemade hummus and of course, great cheese!!!
