Fall Foodie Trends

Just like fashionistas, foodies follow trends. Some foods are making a comeback, others are out of style and new flavor combinations are coming into vogue. In gnereal, whole, fresh foods are in. It's all about balancing fresh, tasty ingredients with an emphasis on healthy flavor. Ile de France has the inside scoop on food trends for Fall 2014!

It's hard to beat a hand-made artisanal crusty bread and rich, real butter (get that margarine out of here!) Bread acts as a crusty canvas for almost any topping, and cheese is always a great choice for eating with fresh bread. Although simple, a bite of crunchy baguette with creamy Brie is a gourmet snack.

Rice is passé - substitute something tastier and healthy. Quinoa has exploded onto the foodie scene, and is incredibly versatile. For a trendy and healthy dish idea, try making a quinoa salad with peppers, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and bites of tangy Ile de France Goat cheese. Top it off with some balsamic vinegar and you're ready to impress any foodie.

From appetizers to desserts, figs are all over every hip menu. With a sweet flavor and beautiful earthy look, figs are useful for more than just cookies and sweets.
