Whenever my wife and I entertain or take food to a social event, like one of the open houses at our local art studio where I am a member, we make trays of mixed cheeses from Ile de France, raw vegetables, crackers, and a dip. Our trays are always complemented and are emptied much faster than the desserts others usually bring, and we receive a lot of questions about the various cheeses, i.e. what is this and where can I buy it. :)

I am 77. Have been a lover of Brie since I was 3 years old. Still my absolute favorite. Joyeuse Fête de la Bastille!

Ila in Maine: Oh ... THAT kind of brie knife. I think I have one of those. Its good for slicing off a piece of brie, but its too narrow for spreading it on a delicious crusty chunk of French bread. But I thoroughly agree with you about brie and conversation.
