“Grilled” News for Cheese lovers

The classic grilled cheese sandwich is more popular now than ever before. The recent article in Nyulocal.com describes a number of fabulous grilled cheese spots in the city, including Melt Shop, Beecher’s Handmade Cheese and Murray’s Cheese. Moreover, there’s a new restaurant in New York City that specialized in grilled cheese sandwiches – Little Muenster.

Of course, these aren’t the only places to get a great grilled cheese in New York and beyond. A lot of cities in the USA cater to grilled cheese lovers. Among the most popular of them: Grilled Cheese Kitchen in San Francisco, Birchwood Kitchen in Chicago, Roxy’s Grilled Cheese in Boston, Ruthie’s Rolling Café in Dallas and others!

While these are all delicious options, there’s an easier way to get a grilled cheese: Make it at home! So for those who don’t like to go out and prefer to enjoy homemade food we have a bunch of cheese grilled recipes on our website.

One of our favorites is Duck Fat and Garlic “Toasted” Camembert Mini Grilled Cheese.

24 slices of Baguette

1/2-3/4 cup Duck Fat (can be purchased)

5 cloves of Garlic (or to taste)

Ile De France Camembert Cheese

Dried Thyme

Water to blanch garlic.

Make your mediocre sandwich a delicious indulgence – add a little French cheese!

Ever have a Monte Cristo sandwich?
Add some French flair to this classic by adding some melted Comté . . .

* 6 slices firm whole wheat sandwich bread
* 4 ounces smoked deli turkey, thinly sliced
* 4 ounces Comté cheese, thinly sliced
* 1 small tomato, thinly sliced
* 1/2 teaspoon dried basil or thyme, crushed
* 1 egg
* 1/4 cup milk
* 2 teaspoons butter, divided
