In this Salad Saturday feature, we’re changing it up and bringing you a salad that is hearty enough to be a main course! An award winning home chef, Dawn M. Richards founded D.M.R. Fine Foods and her passion for food shows! Dawn is a self-taught cook and has perfected her culinary skills in cooking schools abroad, such as The Lenotre cooking school in Paris, France, as well as studying in her hometown of Atlanta, GA. She is currently also a culinary instructor at Williams-Sonoma.
Dawn is letting us in on one of her favorite salad-cheese pairings:
“Grilled Steak Salad with Blue Cheese Crumbles (Roquefort would be great for this!). Toss together romaine greens, fresh peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers. Top with sliced, grilled steak and finish with blue cheese crumbles and a vinaigrette dressing. It’s a light, yet hearty salad, that always satisfies.”
This is one salad recipe that’s sure to impress your guests and leave them hoping to take home leftovers! For more about this recipe, check out her Grilled Steak Salad blog post and let us know if you’ve tried making it.
