New Year Resolution with Cheese!

How are you starting the New Year? We think it’s the perfect time to make a cheesy resolution! Something like: Eating more gourmet cheese dishes! A great way to start is by making this flavorful Tomato & Ile de France Camembert Pie.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients

*1 Ile de France Camembert

*1 sheet of prepared dough

*4 tomatoes

*1 tablespoon of mustard

*2 tablespoons of chopped parsley

Methods/steps

*Preheat the oven to 400° F.

*Roll out the dough and place on a garnished pie plate. Prick the bottom with a fork. Brush with mustard. 



*Cut the tomatoes into thin slices and arrange them on the dough. Bake for 15 minutes.

*Cut the Camembert into slices. Remove the tart from the oven (leave the oven on). Arrange the slices of Camembert on top of the tomato slices and sprinkle with chopped parsley.

*Bake for an additional 10 minutes.

*Remove from oven and allow to slightly cool before serving.

Remembering that pumpkin is something we tend to associate with fall, we decided to delve more into that and found an awesome Pumpkin Mac and Cheese recipe on Detroit Free Press! From toddlers to senior adults, everyone loves some good Mac & Cheese; though sometimes, standard macaroni and cheese recipes can be a bit bland.

This Pumpkin Mac & Cheese recipe uses Gouda to give it a “mild, nutty” flavor but we think it’s even better with our Camembert! A creamy and soft-textured cheese, the versatile fromage can be enjoyed in a wide variety of dishes. Here are some tips and ideas on Macaroni & Cheese!

Mini Brie Popovers

Mini Brie Popovers make a delicious appetizer. This yummy recipe was created by Cory from Culinary Cory using Ile de France Camembert Cheese!

The ingredients are:

2 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
1 tsp. sugar
½ tsp. salt
½ lb. Camembert or Brie cheese

It is that simple, and easy to make!!

Chicken, Camembert & Apple Sandwich

Lynne Webb from MyGourmetConnect created a delicious sandwich recipe with our New Camembert cheese.

Here’s the simple ingredients:

8 chicken tenderloins (about 1/2 lb)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons butter, divided
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
4 ounces Ile de France Camembert Cheese, softened
1 large Granny Smith apple, peeled and thinly sliced
Honey
8 slices whole grain bread
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Fig and Camembert Cheese Pizzelle Sandwich

Steph over at Steph Chows made a unique and yummy-looking sandwich with our new camembert!

I had some pumpkin pizzelles left over from my luxury dinner party and was looking around to see what I could have as a snack. After spotting the also leftover figs and Camembert (compliments of Ile De France) I couldn’t resist making a little sandwich.

What you’ll need:
Pumpkin pizzelles
Camembert Cheese
Dried Figs – sliced
