Salad Saturdays: August is National Goat Cheese Month

As you may or may not know, August is National Goat Cheese month and what better way to observe such a fine event than to indulge in some rich, creamy Goat Cheese! One of the more versatile cheeses around, goat cheese paired with salads is the most healthy, summery way to enjoy! This Salad Saturday, our cheese and salad pairing is courtesy of Dina, a registered dietitian who loves helping people improve their overall health through her passion- preventative nutrition! Dina recently made her favorite salad and shares some photos with us!

Dina’s Spinach and Goat Cheese Salad Ingredients

“This is a quick and easy salad full of antioxidants to celebrate the summer harvest. I used baby spinach, strawberries, blueberries, walnuts and goat cheese. Goat cheese is a little salty and tangy with a wonderful rich texture. I love this salad because it has the perfect combination of sweet and salty. I decided to add blueberries at the end to add an extra burst of vitamin C, A and fiber.”

Dina’s choice of dressing for this salad was fat free strawberry balsamic dressing, or another option she recommends is raspberry¬†vinaigrette. She loves making that salad all the time, and switches it up by changing the nuts and fruits, and sometimes adds chicken! “It’s so perfect for a hot summer day.”
