Have a Domestic Fit this Salad Saturday!

We all know how healthy salads are, but do you ever wonder how to make them even more nutritious? Jackie Dodd has a Salad Saturday recipe that will do just that! A food blogger based in L.A., Jackie contributes to various established food publications, as well as running two of her own! The first one is The Beeroness  which focuses on beer pairings and the second one (see screenshot below) is her blog: Domestic Fits. A domestic Fits tends to result in “a homemade something, topped with bacon, rolled in chocolate”. We should all wake up and throw a domestic fit once in a while!

You can find a wide array of recipes like drinks, appetizers, and main courses. However, we wanted to highlight this Salad Saturday gem: The best little Quinoa Salad Ever. This is the recipe for the foodie who’s always looking to pack the most nutrition into their delicacies! Here is what Jackie says about this salad:

“I’m a big fan of Chèvre goat cheese and Ile de France makes a great one. Chèvre is generally lower in calories and fat than most cheese, making it a great option for a salad. I love to toss Chèvre goat cheese with some arugula, pomegranate seeds (or dried cherries), cooked and cooled quinoa, and a little balsamic. The result is a fabulous salad, backed with protein, that tastes decadent with creaminess of that fabulous cheese!”

We couldn’t agree more about  Chèvre goat cheese advantages! A big thanks to Jackie for inspiring us to include ingredients that will add health benefits as well as texture to our salads.
