Have you heard of a new show on Fox called Brooklyn Nine-Nine? Fans of Saturday Night Live will want to tune in and watch Andy Samberg as Det. Jake Peralta in this comedy about detectives at the very edge of New York City! If you saw the first episode of the series, you may have noticed a familiar wheel of cheese! You’ll find our Ile de France wheel of brie behind the counter at Beneficios Market at 13:40 min into the show.

Salad Saturdays: Fool-Proof Salads

Saturday, September 21st, 2013
Fall is around the corner, but the weather still reminds us of a summer’s day. Perfect for refreshing fruits, vegetables, and more than anything- salads! Salad Saturday returns with a cheese and salad pairing tip from David, a food blogger from Massachusetts who blogs at Cooking Chat. David has plenty of salad recipes on his site, but he shared with us his fool-proof salad recipe:

Greens, toasted almonds, good cheese and a simple vinaigrette and you’ve got a great salad…I’d say the goat cheese would be good in my salad!

Thanks David, and happy Salad Saturday to all!

Peachy Keen on Salad Saturdays

Saturday, September 14th, 2013

We just couldn’t get enough of food blogger Angela’s last salad recipe, blue cheese cole slaw,  so we’re excited to feature another cheese and salad pairing from her food blog Spinach Tiger!

She enjoys making her Grilled Peach Salad with Blue Cheese, Toasted Almonds, Peach Vinaigrette which, as you can see, is beautifully photographed here. She has prepared this salad about six times now and made it for a birthday dinner last week. We’ll bet this salad has been perfected and that the guest of honor couldn’t wait to savor! Don’t you just love that chandelier-style decorative stand? On her blog post, Angela shares her ingredients for the salad, like blue cheese, and also includes her two secrets to giving this salad the wow factor:

  1. How she grills the peaches
  2. How she makes the peach vinaigrette in a very special way!

Check out Angela’s blog post with tips on how to make this beautiful and savory salad for yourself! We know you’re curious about that peach vinaigrette!
