Happy National Pie Day!

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

January 23 is a National Pie Day!

It’s a special day for baking any of your favorite homemade pies, trying new recipes and of course giving them away to kids, relatives, friends or neighbors. Fun ideas for Pie Day are: holding a pie night with all family and friends; holding a pie-making or pie-eating contest.

The great thing about pies is that you can put absolutely anything in them. For instance if you want to have a “meal” pie then you could make something like a chicken pot pie, shepherd’s pie or delicious cheese pies, such as:

Savory Vegetable and Goat Cheese Pie;

Tomato and Camembert Cheese Pie;

Cheese can also be used to make savory dessert pies, like our Caramel Apple Tartlets with Chaumes!

What is your favorite pie flavor?
